And not just the ocean. Every time I ride around the lake just after a storm, huge amounts of trash are washed up on the shore. WTF people? This reservoir supplies our drinking water!

Or anywhere other than trash cans. Not in the ocean, lakes, side of the road, a parking lot. Well, maybe on that one coworker’s desk you don’t like.
Actually I’d be curious to know what percentage of trash in the ocean is from shipwrecks and natural disasters versus assholes just throwing shit in there.

“Karissa Lindstrand, who reportedly drinks 12 cans of Pepsi a day,”
What a weird and extremely unhealthy tidbit to add in the article.

Funny/sad thing is I grew up near the beach and environmental preservation was part of the curriculum growing up. I move an hour west, still in the same state, and people don’t even bother recycling!

Chile has now passed a law that prohibits the distribution of plastic bags in areas near the ocean. It won’t solve the problem but it should help, I wish all places had this.

Yes he was. He made a pretty persuasive Native American, though. I’m old enough to have watched that commercial on TV.

Unless something has changed The last I heard the filters definitely are not biodegradeable and even still they are loaded with all the filtered out stuff that leaches into local water.

My cigar butts. Cigars (at least the ones I buy) are 100% natural tobacco.

So none of you are at least skeptical that this is the result of littering?
